About
Headline Prophet allows you to log and discuss predictions about the future in headline news format. He or she who achieves the most fulfillments among all prophets is deemed the one true "Headline Prophet", of which it is written in sacred scrolls, there can only be one.
Headline Prophet is new. It is in the early stages of its development, marketing, and general history. If you are reading this it means you are an early user and and perhaps an early prophet. Here and now would be the most exciting time for you to create a permanent account and begin logging your predictions.
The site is the project of Dave the Web Guy, and can be best contacted via conventional e-mail at headlineprophet@gmail.com.
The links above lead to Headline Prophet's Facebook Page, Twitter Stream, and Word Press blog respectively. Visit each and become an avid Headline Prophet!
What Kind of Prophecies Can You Make?
Any. They can be serious or fun, informed or speculative, benign or dangerous, local or international. If it's something that can wind up splashed across a newspaper masthead, you can predict it here first.
You can post anonymously but you must have an account to participate in any discussion involving your prediction, to rate, flag, or report fulfillments.
Why?
The developer's first impulse was to provide a satirical platform making fun of the repetitiveness and ludicrousness of today's news. For instance, why is it every year, for the past 20 years, "College Graduates Face a Tough Job Market", or for every benign household product or for every idiosyncratic human behavior, "Researchers Discover a Link to Cancer"? These stories are so re-used and patterned, anyone can effectively predict them, and hence, predict the news well before it happens. Try it and you'll see!
